The Information and Communication Technologies Commission (ICTC) welcomes application from interested industry, research and academia individuals to participate as speakers in one of the sessions of the Annual ICT Professionals Conference (AIPC) scheduled for 24th – 26th October 2018. Speaking at AIPC raises profile as profession and gives opportunity to share experience and knowledge with fellow professionals that develops the ICT profession and build a competitive ICT industry in Tanzania. AIPCis one of the largest conference organized by ICTC gathering professionals in distinguished ICT knowledge areas from Government, business community, Entrepreneurs, innovators, academia and researchers to discuss, network and share experience on subject matters. The Conference also serves as a platform for participants to debate on enabling environment aspects for effective and efficient use of ICT as an enabling tool towards socio-economic development in Tanzania.
ICT practitioners with experience from Public, Private and International Business entities, Organisations, Researchers and Academia are eligible.
3.AREAS OF INTEREST
Applicant should submit a proposal on one of the following ICT areas:
3.2.Local content, ICT innovation and entrepreneurship (Reimagining the future of ICT businesses, Digital arts and multimedia technologies, Growing a start-up: Money-raising and other necessities, Challenges of ICT Start-ups in Tanzania; What need to be done, Challenges of scaling ICT Incubators in Tanzania, Characteristics of successful ICT start-up and Financing ICT Start-ups etc.)
3.3.Security in ICT enabled knowledge economies (Cyber Security Strategy-Tanzania perspective, Securing Digital Enterprises, Attributes of Cybercrime, Safety and Security User Practices, developing the skills base of cyber professionals, emerging cyber challenges and threats, Security challenges in e-financial services, transforming defence IT and National Security, and Organisational Cyber Preparedness: Moving Beyond compliance etc.)
3.4.Towards the 4th industrial revolution(Artificial Intelligence-Machine Learning, High Tech Computing, Internet of Things, Robotics, Digital Autonomous Vehicles, 3-D/4-D printing, Virtual/Augmented Reality, Block Chain Technology, Social Media, Datacentres, Cloud Computing, Public Key Infrastructure, Crypto-currencies, Smart Robotics, Wireless power, quantum computing, Voice User Interfaces, Virtual Assistants etc.)
3.5.Radio and Wireless communications technologies (State of Radio Frequency communication, the future of Radio and Television Broadcasting, Radar Communication, Light wave-Optic transmission, Satellite and Microwave communication, 4G and 5G Mobile technologies, Global Positioning Systems, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), Space and Satellite Communications, Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access, Wi-Fi, Zig Bee etc).

b.The amount of time provided for each topic presentation is 25 minutes. Please keep this in mind as you prepare your submission.
c.Submissions that focus on selling a product or service will be disqualified from consideration.
