ICT PROFESSIONALS

The ICT Commission is mandated to enforce and provide expertise for ICT profession recognition in the marketplace.

Moving towards industrialization within the information age requires the exploitation of digital technologies and high–tech systems. These digital technologies are changing based on the pace of technological advancements hence the need for the nation to have experts in various ICT fields. The registration process shall facilitate the promotion and elevation of the arts, science, and general knowledge of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in Tanzania, and, in particular, to advance and represent the interests as well as the development and professionalism of all those practicing in the ICT industry.

Objective

The primary objective of this framework is to improve the ICT profession by ensuring ICT professionals practice by adhering to the highest professional standards. Specifically, the policy framework intends to:

 

  • 1. Enhance the quality of ICT human resources and professional services;
  •  
  • 2. Raise the profile of the ICT profession;
  •  
  • 3. Provide a common methodology for assessing/reviewing ICT capabilities;
  •  
  • 4. Attract more young people to join the ICT profession;
  •  
  • 5. Facilitate professional career development;
  •  
  • 6. Advance Tanzania’s position as a leading knowledge-based society.
